Little Explorers Learning Academy

St. Peters, Missouri

Big days forlittleexplorers.

Little Explorers Learning Academy is a preschool and early learning academy for children 6 weeks through 12 years. We focus on early development — the language, movement, feelings and first friendships that everything else is built on — and we do it through play, in small groups, with teachers who know your child.

A look inside

This is the hallwayyou walk in on.

Not a stock photo. The long runner with our name on it, the bulletin boards along the wall, and the rooms just off the hallway where your child’s day would actually happen.

A website can answer a lot, but a building answers more. Come see the rooms in the middle of a real day, meet the teacher your child would be with, and ask us the things that are hard to put in an email.

Life at Little Explorers

Our own children,in our own building.

Not stock photos. These are the days we actually had — the playground, the coloring table, the helmets, and the hallway with our name down the middle of it.

The photos only show so much.

The best way to know a place is to stand in it while children are there. A tour takes about half an hour, and you can bring your child along.

Why we exist

The first five years do morethan any other five.

Everything we do here comes back to early development. Not worksheets and not flashcards — the real work of this age: learning to talk and be understood, to move with confidence, to name a feeling instead of only feeling it, to try something hard and keep going.

Our teachers are deliberate about it. They set up the room, choose the materials and plan the day so that each child gets exactly the practice they need next — and they tell you what they are seeing, so you can see it at home too.

How our approach works

Language & early literacy

Talking, singing, rhyming and being read to every single day.

Social & emotional growth

Naming feelings, taking turns, and repairing a hard moment with help.

Motor skills

Tummy time, climbing, grip, scissors, buttons — big and small movement.

Thinking & problem solving

Sorting, counting, patterns, puzzles, and “what happens if…”

Independence

Coat, shoes, cup, clean-up. Doing it yourself is a milestone.

Kindergarten readiness

Sitting in a group, following directions, and feeling sure of yourself.

Rooms by age

One school, six weeks to twelve years

Children move up when they are ready, not on a calendar date. Each room is set up for what that age is actually doing — and you can see every one of them on a tour.

What families tell us

Why parents choose Little Explorers

There is no one thing. It is the whole day, done thoughtfully, by people who are glad to be with your child.

Early development is the whole point

Not a curriculum bolted onto a babysitting day. Every room is set up around what children are working on at that age — language, motor skills, feelings, and getting along with others.

Small groups, known by name

Children do their best when a grown-up truly knows them. Our rooms are small enough that every child is greeted by name in the morning and noticed when something is off.

Learning through play, on purpose

Blocks, paint, sand, songs, stories and running outside are not breaks from learning — they are how young children learn. Our teachers set those moments up deliberately.

One place from six weeks to twelve

Families stay with us for years. Children move up through rooms they already know, with teachers who already know them, and siblings can be in the same building all day.

Ready for kindergarten, without the pressure

Pre-K children leave here able to write their names, listen in a group, follow directions and ask for help — and still excited about school.

You always know how the day went

A quick word at pickup, notes for our youngest children, and a phone number that a real person answers. You should never wonder what happened today.

A day here

Predictable enough to feel safe, busy enough to be fun.

Young children relax into a rhythm they can count on. This is the general shape of a day — the exact times shift by room and by child, because babies eat and sleep on their own schedule and preschoolers need a longer project than toddlers do.

Afternoon

A typical day, not a fixed schedule. Outdoor time happens every day the weather allows, and infants follow their own rhythm for naps and feedings.

Every day, weather permitting

Outside every day

Fresh air is part of the curriculum, not a reward for finishing work. Our outdoor space has room to run, something to climb, and a garden bed children help tend — where the digging, the counting and the “look what I found” all happen.
